The second episode of Nickelodeons’ upcoming animated show, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, will be available to watch on Sunday.
It stars the upcoming star of the show, Luke Skywalker.
“It’s a little bit of a mashup of all of them, but we wanted to make sure there was something that was going to feel like a real movie,” Nickelodeo President and CEO Jim Ross said on Monday’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Ross also teased that the new show would be “a lot different than the ones that came before.”
He also revealed that there will be a new villain called the “Stormtrooper.”
“This is the guy you’ll see in Episode 3, and he’ll be coming in on the back of this guy who is the leader of the Death Star,” he said.
“The guy’s going to be a bit of an annoyance.”
Ross said he didn’t want the show to take itself too seriously.
“We’re not trying to make this an action show, but there are some things that we have to be realistic about, so we’re not going to make it about anything,” he added.
“What we’re going to do is bring back elements that are important to the original films,” he continued.
“And that includes the original villain, the first Death Star.”
The show will also feature new characters including a droid who is not the original, as well as some old friends.
“You’re going up against the guy who wants to destroy the galaxy,” Ross said.
